NOLA

Everytime I go to New Orleans, I fall in love with it.  I enjoy going there despite the chaos that comes with it everywhere you go.  It's a pretty interesting city.  But the thing that draws me to it the most is that it is so ripe for the gospel it crazy.  The people there are ready to hear it, and the place is flooded with all kinds of ministries especially after Katrina.

While I was there, I met a guy named Ronald.  Ronald came out of no where on day as we were hanging out in a neighborhood in the 9th ward.  It was obvious he was severely crippled.  My first thought was, "Oh great...what's this guy gonna do."  Because honestly, there are a lot of wierd and interestin people out there.  Turns out, Ronald was one of the greatest things to happen to us while we were there.  He was a freestyle poet.  A good one at that.  Plus, he was a strong believer with a great story.  He called us the "love people" because he has seen many groups like us ministering in the nieghborhood, and he knew why we were there.  The cool thing was, he did not give us much credit, but always brought it back to Jesus.  The very first poem he told us was about how the love of Jesus was here and how he was so greatful for it.  It kind of took me back a bit because he was right.  How cool is it that the love of Christ still has such an impact when we don't even realize it.  He told us that he became a believer because of people doing exactly what we were doing.  Now he just travels around NOLA telling people these poems that are full of Jesus.  I got a few on video, so I'll share them.  Hope you enjoy.
